About this event

The Joy of Living Level 1: Calming the Mind online course offers a way to transform our lives through training the mind. Meditation can help us discover inner peace and joy, freeing us from the constraints of habitual thinking and fixed perspectives, and allowing awareness to reveal the innate compassion and wisdom.

At the same time, Calming the Mind is the most foundational, core, and essential practice in all shamatha and vipashyana meditations. Through this course, Mingyur Rinpoche will guide us to recognize and experience our mind’s innate capacity - awareness.

Course Content

In this course, participants will not only learn the knowledge and correct posture for meditation but also more than ten different meditation methods and techniques. In the following months, there will be weekly group practice sessions where senior students will accompany participants in their practice, helping to integrate understanding and experience into daily life. With the awareness and insight connected through meditation, we can face life’s ups and downs with greater ease, transforming challenges and difficulties into supports for our practice. Even when life rises and falls like ocean waves, we can still find inner peace.

This course features an entirely new teaching series (Joy of Living 2.0), recorded after Rinpoche’s wandering retreat. It is the most complete version of Calming the Mind Level 1.
