Joy of Living Level 2: Opening the Heart
In the second level of the Joy of Living, Mingyur Rinpoche teaches how meditating on love, compassion, joy and equanimity can open our hearts to the world around us and decrease the self-fixation that lies at the root of suffering.

Joy of Living Level 3: Awakening Wisdom
In the third level of the Joy of Living, Mingyur Rinpoche offers guidance on the practice of insight meditation, a profound form of meditation that uproots the causes of anxiety and suffering.

Tergar Chinese and Thai Practice Group will be hosting “Joy of Living” Levels 2 and 3 courses in Bangkok, Thailand, in late June 2024, along with Zoom live streaming. We sincerely invite you to join us in person for the course. If you are unable to attend in person, you are welcome to register for the online live streaming course.

HK$300 Base fee: This fee covers the basic expenses of organizing the course
HK$500 Sponsor fee: This fee covers the basic expenses of organizing the course, and support the development of the Tergar community.

Section I: ARRIVAL & TRAVEL TIPS

  • Phone and data cards (change some words)

SIM cards are available for sale at the Bangkok airport and at some 7-Eleven outlets. You’d need to show your passport to buy them. You will need mobile data to receive translation in class. Please prepare and wear headphones (earpieces) to listen to the translation.

If you listen Chinese and English translation, it is vital for you to prepare enough data cards.

  • Money
    Currency exchange is available at the Bangkok airport. Only Thai baht will be accepted in Thailand.
  • Transport from airport to hotel
    Taxis and limousines are available at the airport. You can approach airport staff for help. Please get ready the name of your accommodation/hotel, its address (in English) and phone number.

Part II: AT THE COURSE

  • First-day registration
    Report for registration at the course venue on Day 1, between 8:15- 9 AM Bangkok time. Bring along your passport, the email confirming your registration.
  • Accommodation Meals
    Accommodation, meals: The venue is located in the city center, with many hotels and restaurants nearby. Accommodation and meals are arranged by the participants themselves. The organizer will provide drinks and snacks to the participants during the break.

Section III: PROGRAM INFO AND MATERIAL

  • Daily schedule

 

 

  • Translation
    The main language used for teaching is English or Mandarin Chinese. The organizer will provide Zoom Chinese Mandarin, English, and Thai translations. Please download the Zoom app on your phone before arriving in Thailand, and make sure you bring enough power banks for your phone to use the app for at least 5 hours a day.
    Please prepare and wear headphones (earpieces) to listen to the translation.
  • Programme materials
    The JOL 2 and 3 Practice Guides will be provided on site.
