About this event

Saga Dawa is a very important time in the Buddhist calendar, marking the birth, enlightenment and parinirvana of Buddha
Shakyamuni. It is typically celebrated for a whole month, with special significance given to the 15th lunar day, which
this year falls on June 11. What better occasion to celebrate the Buddha’s great discovery of the path to ultimate
freedom, as vibrant today as it was more than 2,500 years ago, than with a special teaching by Mingyur Rinpoche?

Known as the month of merits, Saga Dawa is a time when the effects of our actions are said to be greatly multiplied.
Buddhists around the world engage in increased acts of generosity, virtue, and compassion. We invite you to join us in
honoring this profound day by turning our hearts and minds toward the Buddha’s timeless wisdom.
