During His teaching today in Taipei, Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche talked about "How to Live Joyfully in Time of Anxiousnes".
Rinpoche highlighted the important teachings in which indicates that, in order to live happily, one should not focus on the negatives and imperfections. We should start a new habit by starting to meditate for 5 minutes everyday, and to think about 5 things like our strengths or things makes us feel happy and positive. Even though it could be as simple as doing dishes, or just being able to see and breath, they all can be joyful.
Rinpoche also points out that it takes at least 30 days of practice to develop a new habit and to break the old routine. Thus Rinpoche has encouraged us to develop 3 helpful habits:
1.Train ourselves to meditate for 5 minutes. 2.Think about 5 joyful and thankful events everyday. 3.Exercise frequently.
The audience has also raised various problems and concerns of their own, including being trapped in suicidal depression.
